Texas 7v7 Soccer League Rules

  • Middle School Big 16 Rules of Play

    • Teams must have a minimum of 9 players
    • Game Time - 16:45
    • 7th and 8th Grades will have one team for each grade
    • Teams will play two 25 minute halves with a running clock
    • Half time is 5 minutes
    • Games will be played at opposite sites
    • Home team will supply water
    • An official UIL approved ball will be used
    • all National Federation High School (NFHS) rules apply
    • all UIL rules apply
    • Shootout rules: 3 kicks (Alternating) each team 1st round; if still tied, then flip for sudden death 1 kick-alternate until there is a winner

    SAISD Middle School Rules of Play

    • Double header: 7th and 8th Grade, 8th grade teams play first game
    • Teams will play two 20 minute halves, with a running clock kept by the official on the field.
    • Five minute half-time, and five minutes between games.
    • If the game is tied at the end of regulation, a penalty kick shoot out will be used.
    • The penalty kick shoot out will start with 2 players from each team who were on the field at the end of regulation. If still tied after the 2 players, then it will continue with 1 player each until the tie is broken. It is important that we break the tie to determine the Zone Champions at the end of the season.
    • If an administrative or official decision is made to stop the contest, the score will stand and the game will not be replayed.
